MAPLEWOOD NEWS

Maplewood News

It is hard to believe that the end of the year is quickly approaching.  We have had a great year at Maplewood, and hope that you feel the same.

We would like to thank everyone that participated in and supported the PTG Spell-a-thon.  There was close to $4000 raised.  This money will go a long way to help fund many items and activities for our students.  If you still have money to send in, please do so as soon as possible.

Upcoming activities to add to your calendar include:

-         May 6th, Young Author Night

-         May 10, PTG meeting @ 6:30 p.m.

-         May 10, Students will go to Memorial Park to hear Ben Bikin talk about bike safety.  No bikes are needed.

-         May 11, Third graders to Meadowview to visit

-         May 31, NO SCHOOL for Memorial Day

-         June 2, All-school picnic

You should have received your child’s packet of spring pictures.  There is a price list included so you can see what the cost is per sheet.  Please send the pictures back if you do not care to buy any or send the money and unwanted pictures back.  Checks should be made

out to Lifetouch.  They would like all of this back by May 7th.

Our Young Author Night will be on May 6th from 4:30-6:30 p.m.  A meal will be served from 4:30-6:00 p.m. ONLY.  A note is going home asking you to RSVP so the PTG can plan accordingly for the meal preparation.  Please plan to attend as the students have worked hard on their books.

Our last day of school will be Thursday, June 3rd.

If you are planning to move over the summer, please contact the school office.  It is important that we have your address for summer mailings.  We also need to be aware if your child(ren) will not be attending Maplewood School next year.

Included in this newsletter is information regarding bullying.  We try to monitor any bullying and address it immediately.  Hopefully, you will gain some information from this article.

Thank you for all that you, as parents, do for your children to make their educational experience a positive one.

As always, contact the school if you have any questions or concerns at 269-8133.
