HOMEWORK
Math work will most likely be completed within class time. Math homework for the measurement unit will be limited. Baggie books and LMC books all need to be returned to Maplewood so they can be cataloged and re-shelved so none will be sent home to read during the week either.

Please make sure your child has their library books returned, there will be a note in their planner if a book is still missing from the library.
Report cards and school materials will be coming home on the last day of school. Please let me know if your child will be leaving early this school year so I can have their supplies and paper work prepared ahead of time.

LEARNING THIS LAST WEEK
This week our story is: Punished! Concepts include: anagrams, homophones, idioms, palindromes. What a fun story!
Science/Writing Integration: Simple Machines concepts include: exploring, investigating, and solving real world problems with: structures and forces, levers, wheels and axles, gears, and pulleys. Students will also conduct experiments with the remaining two simple machines: wedge, and screw. If time students will be BUILDING simple machines with the LEGO education kits with the focus of solving a real world problem.
Math: Measurement unit concepts include estimate and measure length to the nearest ¼ centimeter, convert and solve problems of measurements within the customary and metric system of measurements, and read temperatures in degrees Fahrenheit and Celsius.
